Does anyone else get this weird sad feeling when they see that the majority of the site's activity is from automated bots? Not that I long to be 13 years old again, posting on these boards, but it's a shame that it's some sort of weird wasteland of conversation now. It's a shame that we can't keep our old accounts and migrate everything onto a new system that isn't vulnerable to bots (or atleast as many).

Yeah, it's unfortunate. If we still had active administrators, I don't think it would be too difficult to keep the spam in check. Maybe install a mod that requires a new user's first few posts to go into the moderation queue or something.

I'm around occasionally, and delete what I see. It's already the case that you can't enter posts with links in them when you have a post count below some limit, although they usually seem to put them in the sig. instead.
