Dubstep
Anyone else into this insanely cool and wide genre? The genre itself has so many different sounds to it, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to not find something you like.
Dubstep is music meant to be felt and experience on a HUGE fucking sound system. I've never been to a show as fun as a dubstep show, and my first one was seriously life changing. They are the craziest parties you can go to. |
Just saw Rusko recently in Richmond they were pretty nuts.

Yeah, I saw him on Oct 28. He sold out the venue, 1,300 people going nuts in one room. |
I'm just sorta getting into dubstep, any suggestions?

Not really my genre, but I did like Skrillex's new EP which is, I think, mostly dub step. Below is a tracklist with links to the first three tracks, and I'm sure you can find the others if you want.
1: Rock N' Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVX8hJN7c-c 2. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSeNSzJ2-Jw 3. Kill Everybody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F21aifX0lZY 4. All I Ask of You (with Penny) 5. Scatta (with Bare Noize & Foreign Beggars) 6. With You, Friends (Long Drive) 7. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (Noisia Remix) 8. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (Zedd Remix) 9. Kill Everybody (Bare Noize Remix) |

What are some artists you already like? Quote:
Yeah Skrillex is killing it lately. He got to #1 on beatport.com and was the first dubstep artist to break into the top 10. |
Dubstep is cool but even with different styles and sounds I feel it's very repetitive...can only handle so much at a time.

Dubstep music has been my life's soundtrack for the past few weeks pretty much constantly. Car, computer, etc. Some of it has been a miss for me, but I'm listening to unfiltered collections from any place I can find it.

Who have you been listening to? I've got so many incredible shows coming up. Next weekend I'll be here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=170929086266002 Over 12 headliners, and the dubstep headliners are Nero, Virus Syndicate, Plastician, Zed's Dead, and Matty G. On the 30th I'm seeing Bassnectar for a New Years Eve Eve show. I wanted to go to the show on the 31st but tickets literally sold out in 10 minutes. The venue is fucking huge too. The 30th show sold out in an hour! In february, I'm seeing Excision, Antiserum, and Downlink and then another Bassnectar show. Last month Borgore, Vaski, Downlink, Total Recall and Mark Instinct rolled through Atlanta. Atlanta has been doing it big! |
Here is a mix I did: http://soundcloud.com/mcm9010/maxiemix
If you listen, lemme know what you think about it. There is one transition that is a little sloppy. I've currently been mixing for about two months now and I'm trying to become a proper DJ. Some friends and are I starting up a monthly dubstep show here in Columbus, GA. Anybody within an hours drive has to drive 2 hours to Atlanta for shows, so we are trying to bring the scene here. I am SO STOKED to get it up and running. CO3 you'll have to come down for a show sometime! |
Sort of dubstep but in their own genre...
