I'm mostly looking forward to it, mainly because I want to be as far away from my life/country (aka shithole) as possible and the plain fact that I want to build a snowman.
And hopefully before my vis \4a expires, I'll meet a Canadian guy, pop out an anchor baby \4, then await the sweet embrace of death.

My life is fucking awesome
My daily schedule Mon-Fri:
0630 - 0730: Physical training
0730 - 0830: Recovery
0830 - 1130: "Work"
1130 - 1300: Lunch
1300 - 1630: "Work"
This means that I "work" for roughly 6 and a half hours, which according to Office Space rules is roughly about 15 minutes of real actual work. The great thing about working for the active armed forces is that I get paid regardless of work hours I actually put in.
How I got from Neopets to USMC is beyond me but it's been real

Pretty weak actually
Given my estimated 53 "work" hours over two weeks I would get paid about $650 or roughly $1300 monthly or $12.25 hourly if you look at those ways
However on the upside:
No rent
No water/electrical fees
No medical fees
Food services provided
Earn 2.5 days off per month
You get every government holiday off (which is good considering my last job was retail sales and it's kinda exactly the opposite)
Also:
I get promoted (hopefully) July = Pay raise
I hit my two year mark in September = Pay raise
Fiscal year 2010 = Another pay raise
Probably the only thing that's going to suck is when I go to Afghanistan next year but it's all good because you get paid more while you're over there

pretty decent for the amount of work required I guess - so is it an all out sausage fest environment at your workplace or are there potential poontangs too?

Statistics are about 10 dudes to every 1 lady and I believe that is the same throughout the Marine Corps. If you're joining the military for the ladies or for the lulz then I hear Air Force is where it's at

I have two warrants which will be $456 to get rid of. Then I have to pay to get my license unsuspended. Yay.

Sometimes life can have you down...but why hate life? Without it, there is nothing. It is a waste of time to hate life. You only get to live once, love it and enjoy it.

from hearing stories of you guys, it's too early for me to understand what life really is
i'm going to college in a year, probably a mid-tier UC
any advice for living by/supporting yourself in college?
what happens when i get out of college?
sometimes i really take the stuff i have for granted

If I didn't feel nauseated and sick all the time I'd be swell. Right now I feel miserable and depressed. 2 weeks solid like this.
